CCM Phenom Junior Goalie Leg Pads – Special Edition
The CCM Phenom is an all-new line for CCM in 2025. The Phenom is built to be a price friendly but with features that CCM is known for in their junior goalie equipment.
Goalies Plus will have a Special Edition version of the Phenom junior leg pads, incorporating six exclusive colors only found at Goalies Plus.
The CCM Phenom is a hybrid goalie pad with a single break below the knee. This is very important for younger goalies as almost every young goalie is a hybrid goalie. Young goalies are too small to be a blocking style butterfly goalie for many reasons: size, mobility, body limitations, etc. So young goalies combine technique with hybrid movement to make saves. Since a hybrid goalie will still utilize the butterfly technique, it is important that the pad can do its part. By having a flexible pad like the Phenom, even a medium/narrow width goalie can still perform a butterfly technique with full closure.
Some features of the new Phenom goalie pads are a tight fit leg channel. Keeping the pad on a young goalie’s leg is extremely important, a loose fit for a young kid will create protection and performance issues. The strapping system is also very easy for a parent to get on and off quickly in the locker room.
On the back of the pad, the Phenom has an adjustable professor (control) strap at the top of the calf. Unlike some past CCM generations, this internal strap can be adjusted to every goalie’s size needs.
The face of the Phenom pad is a flat face pad which helps the young goalie direct rebounds in a consistent manner.
The knee stack of the Phenom junior pad has a balanced feel and is designed not to interfere with the flex of the pad.
Another great feature of Phenom junior leg pads is the proportionate size to width of the pads. The smaller the pad, the narrower they are. As the pad goes from 26+1 to 28+1 to 30+1, the width of the pad also adjusts to the height. This is very important as you will not see a small and wide junior CCM pad and vice versa, you will not see a tall narrow junior pad.
CCM will use an offset hybrid lace system for a toe on the Phenom junior goalie pad versus a bungee toe tie system. The hybrid lace system is a skate lace system with built in slack to allow the goalie skate free range of motion without any restriction. The hybrid toe tie has a Velcro connection at the ends that allow for quick and easy connection while getting dressed. There is also a great YouTube video that Kasimir Kaskisuo addressing toe laces versus bungees.

CCM Phenom Junior Goalie Catch Glove – Special Edition
The CCM Phenom is an all-new line for CCM in 2025. The Phenom is built to be a price friendly but with features that CCM is known for in their junior goalie equipment. The Phenom junior catch glove has been built with a softer, more kid friendly feel and closure.
The CCM Phenom will use their popular Litecore material in the cuff area. with Litecore is 15% lighter than past generations of CCM catch gloves. The Litecore molded cuff thumb design will allow for great consistency over time as it will not flatten out like past generation thumb molds.
The catching pocket will be an extra one inch deeper than past CCM junior gloves. This will help keep the puck in the catching pocket when making saves. The Phenom will also have a skate lace pocket.
The palm area of the Phenom catch glove uses a layered foam design that has been made softer for a more kid friendly glove
The internal strapping system will have the cross-foam strapping allows for a customized fit on the back of the goalie’s hand and the finger area. The finger area will have traditional finger stalls, gone are the open designs that were not very popular on past CCM gloves. The inner palm of the Phenom catch glove has the Hexa Palm which is a textured grip design that gives the goalie greater finger control (less slippage) in the inner palm area.
A new cross foam strapping allows for a customized fit on the back of the goalie’s hand and the finger area.

CCM Extreme Phenom Junior Goalie Blocker – Special Edition
The CCM Phenom is an all-new line for CCM in 2025. The Phenom is built to be a price friendly but with features that CCM is known for in their junior goalie equipment.
The CCM Phenom junior blocker will continue to have a centered palm position (like previous Extreme Flex generations).
The Phenom will continue to use the popular Litecore in the junior blocker. Littecore is not only lightweight, but also well balanced and produces very active rebounds off the face of the blocker. The face of the Phenom blocker is binding less which gives this blocker the maximum surface coverage along with the best durability. The sidewall of the blocker has been segmented from the palm area which gives the goalie much better feel when holding the stick and stick handling.
On the backside of the Phenom blocker, CCM will continue with the popular FlexMotion cuff which allows for maximum wrist mobility. Wrist mobility is extremely important and will allow the goalie to stay in complete control whether it is driving a rebound into the corner or making a saucer pass (maybe even shooting at the empty net). The finger protection of the Phenon blocker has full low density wrap around protection with the pointer finger being separated for extra finger flexibility. With the pointer finger in this position, it is exposed to pucks riding up the stick and injuring the finger. The thumb area has a high-density foam on the outside with a soft pillow separating the thumb from this outer area. We like this feature quite a bit, many blockers use a plastic molded outer thumb piece which makes the thumb flexibility to stiff. With the high-density foam outer, the goalie will still have the protection needed but with a much greater range of motion.
The palm area will use the Hexa Palm for great stick control.
