Vaughn Ion Pro Intermediate Goalie Blocker – Special Edition

New for 2026 is the Vaughn Ion goalie blocker. Starting with the blocker board, the Ion Pro blocker has a thick high density foam board.  This provides more rebound pop off the face of the Ion blocker.  The hand position on the Ion blocker sits higher than older SLR blockers which adds more coverage area.  We also found that by changing the palm position, the Ion blocker feels more balanced.  The side wall of the Ion has a large coverage area.  Also, the side wall has been stiffened to add for a more consistent feel on saves to this area.

The Ion Pro blocker will keep the binding less surface. This takes up the maximum allowed surface area under NHL, NCAA, USA Hockey, Hockey Canada and IIHF rules. The Vaughn Ion blocker is structured to take away the shooting angle and provide optimum rebound control.  The finger area provides an index finger trigger design which helps the goalie control the paddle of the goalie stick more effectively when they are in their ready position.   The Vaughn Ion Pro blocker has a wide wrist opening to enhance puck control when stick handling.  The VX Suede palm which is also great for stick control and stick handling,

The Vaughn Ion line is the continuation of the Ventus/SLR series but has been redesigned for a more modern feel and better performance.
