Vaughn Ion Youth Goalie Blocker – Special Edition

New for 2026 is the newest line from Vaughn called the Ion.  The Ion is a new name for Vaughn but is built off the SLR lineage. Goalies Plus will provide our customer base another Special Edition version of the Vaughn Ion line in youth sizes.  We will have five unique color patterns available.

The Vaughn Ion youth blocker features many of the specs that the majority of goalies prefer.  This blocker can be used by either a hybrid or butterfly style goalie. The Ion youth blocker is extremely light weight and well balanced.  The Vaughn Ion blocker has the features of a junior blocker in a smaller package.  The air cushioned backhand protects the goalie’s wrist and back of hand.  Full finger protection on the Vaughn Ion youth blocker is rarely seen in other companies’ youth blockers.  A high-quality palm allows the goalie to have optimal stick feel while being durable.

The Vaughn Ion youth line is a mix of a youth and junior in our opinion.  The quality and spec are much better than any other youth line on the market today.  For goalies wearing junior pads but feel that the corresponding junior blocker and gloves are too big, the Ion youth line is a perfect alternative.  The quality of this blocker is more than capable of working as a smaller junior blocker.  Therefore, we consider this to be a very high-end youth blocker, or a smaller junior blocker based on what a smaller goalie needs.
