True Catalyst Nitro Lefevre Pro Goalie Leg Pads
New for 2026 is a redesigned True Catalyst Nitro True goalie pad. True has taken the popular Catalyst pad and thinned it out and made it lighter with the Nitro pad. The Nitro pad uses a new high density SCF foam technology that allows the pad to be thinner and lighter. We have weighed a 32+1.5in. pad and it came to a very light 4.9 pounds per pad. These pads still have a very stiff core, so regardless of the Catalyst or HZRDUS lines, True pads are a stiffer pad. This also allows for very explosive rebounds off the face of the pad.
Also new for 2026 is a new knee block system. This new system can be adjusted to make the knee block flex more or less depending on the goalie’s preference. Some goalies want a very stiff knee block that doesn’t flex while others want the knee block to flex and create a more twisting flex on the knee area of the pad while in the butterfly position.
Also new is the tor the Nitro line is the PSC toe bridge system. This toe bridge is contoured to fit perfectly on the post when a goalie is in the reverse vh position or sliding post to post in the butterfly position. This also provides a stronger and more stable push off from the post when in these techniques. The PCS toe bridge is also very flexible, so when a goalie goes from a skating position to a butterfly position, it moves with the goalie’s body and prevents any binding effects.
The True/Lefevre gear is still hand made in Canada.
The Nitro is the traditional hybrid style pad in the True lineup but like we said before, it is still a stiffer pad compared to other hybrid pads on the market today. The boot of the Nitro Pro goalie pad has a new 110-degree boot angle which again provides the flex in the boot that the hybrid goalie wants. This is a change compared to the previous models that used the 90-degree boot.
Single Break: Softer shin area which becomes increasingly stiffer in the upper portion of the pad is separated by the single break
