New for 2016 is the Bauer Supreme S170 Senior Goalie Blocker. Not every goalie wants or needs the very best of everything. Bauer makes the Supreme S170 line for the goalie who still loves the game but does not play enough or have enough money to get top level gear but they also do not want low mid-level gear either. Bauer makes four levels of the Supreme goalie series and we consider the S170 a true mid-level line. The S170 blocker is made with the same features as the higher level Supreme blocker but has a slight reduction in the quality of materials. Normally a manufacture will have three level of goalie gear – pro, high mid-level & low mid-level. With Bauer adding a fourth option in the Supreme series, a goalie can get a true mid-level blocker. The Supreme S170 is a light weight, well balanced blocker that is built for the coverage style goalie. This goalie likes to maximize their size – generally using the butterfly technique. We feel that the protection, palm construction and price will make this a top seller.
