Bauer SV-Pro Junior Goalie Leg Pads – Special Edition
The SV-Pro series may be one of the most exciting products for 2025 at Goalies Plus. Bauer is finally releasing a higher end junior goalie pad in the SV-Pro Junior. Bauer for years has had the GSX junior line, but it honestly was not a good selling leg pad at Goalies Plus. There were other options at the same price point that just seemed to be a better option. However, the SV-Pro junior leg pads have really changed the game for the junior category. This pad resembles the higher end pads in both look and quality. We are very excited for this line as the junior category is in desperate need of good options for younger goalies.
First, what is with the name SV-Pro? SV is the abbreviation that the NHL uses for save percentage. Therefore, the name is a reference to save percentage which is somewhat important to a goalie. Now on to the product itself. The SV-Pro is a very hybrid style feeling pad. Much more flexible with a large pre-curved s-shape to the pads. This pad will be great for younger goalies who need both vertical and horizontal flex in a goalie pad. The SV-Pro has great flexibility yet is structured to perform high level technical movements without collapsing on itself.
On to the features of the Bauer SV-Pro leg pads. The SV-Pro junior pad will incorporate the STABILIFLEX Knee Block, again for added flexibility in the pads. Bauer will also use a material on the pads for optimized slide ability, particularly on the inner edge. The inner edge also has a distinct design pattern to promote greater side to side slide compared to the older models.
The boot angle on the SV-Pro junior pads will be the 100-degree boot break. This will allow for great ankle mobility for a young goalie.
The strapping system in the shin and calf area will be the Supreme Tune Fit+ strap system. This has been extremely popular and there is no reason to fix something that is not broken. This strapping system can be adjusted tighter or looser depending on the goalie’s preference.
The toe strapping system will use the Supreme bungee system with a Velcro attachment. Goalies like the Supreme toe bridge because of the four different spots a goalie can attach the bungees to. Some goalies like an offset toe attachment, some goalies like a neutral attachment point, the Supreme toe system allows for each goalie’s preference.

Bauer SV-Pro Junior Goalie Catch Glove – Special Edition
New for 2025 is the all-new SV-Pro series. The SV-Pro junior catch glove will only come with the 60-degree break angle (the senior will have the option for 60- or 90-degree breaks). The 60-degree break angle is the traditional Bauer glove break. This is also known as the 590-break angle. The 60-degree break angle keeps the catch pocket more in line straight with the glove break.
The Bauer SV-Pro goalie catch glove has some differences from the past X5 Pro model. One notable change for the SV-Pro glove is the pocket size. The new SV-Pro catch glove has a deeper pocket than previous models with a new fused double-t pocket design. Combined with the new fused double t-pocket, the full hand closure makes the SV-Pro catch glove very easy to open and close right off the shelf.
The palm structure has been changed on the SV-Pro catch glove. It will now have a lace through palm for increased durability.
The cuff of the SV-Pro glove will have the CURV composite reinforcement.
In the palm area, Bauer will be using rebound control foams and DCT protection. This is lighter and more protective than pervious Vapor glove generations. The inner palm will use the CatchGrip material. This material adds a tackier feel to the inner palm which gives a goalie more control – particularly in the fingers and fingertips.
The size of the SV-Pro junior catch glove has a great proportionate size for younger goalies. Some blockers and gloves in the junior category are very big, too big for a goalie in the 26/28 pad size. Bauer has done a very good job keeping the glove and blocker size appropriate for this sized goalie.

Bauer SV-Pro Junior Goalie Blocker – Special Edition
The Bauer Blockers are considered the most comfortable blockers on the market today. No other manufacture can compete with the comfort and rebound pop off the blocker face. New for 2025, the new SV-Pro has some new features to make these blockers even better.
Starting with a new adjustable finger connection system. This allows for goalies to change the finger padding based on how a goalie holds their stick. If a goalie likes a squared paddle design, they can adjust the padding to work with a square paddle. If a goalie likes a steep paddle design, they can adjust the padding for a steep paddle.
The thumb on the new SV-Pro Blocker is also more flexible than past models. This allows for great stick control in both save techniques and stick handling. The cuff on the SV-Pro Blocker is also much wider than any past Bauer blockers, which adds increased flexibility in the goalie’s wrist.
The palm of the SV-Pro Blocker uses the Shadow palm. This equates to more stick control, better feel and better overall performance. With stick handling being a must for goalies in today’s game, the blocker palm is vital to stick handling success.
The SV-Pro blocker generates extremely active rebounds off the face of the blocker.
The size of the SV-Pro junior blocker has a great proportionate size for younger goalies. Some blockers and gloves in the junior category are very big, too big for a goalie in the 26/28 pad size. Bauer has done a very good job keeping the glove and blocker size appropriate for this sized goalie.
