Bauer Vapor Flylite Pro Goalie Leg Pads

New for 2025 is the Vapor Flylite Pro Goalie Leg Pads.  The Vapor line is Bauer’s most popular retail level goalie pad.  The main reason for this is the Vapor series appeals to almost all goalies but particularly the hybrid goalie looking for more flexibility in their goalie pads.  Bauer is the fastest growing goalie pad, blocker, glove combination in the pro, college and junior levels.  The new Vapor Flylite Pro Goalie Pads have many new features for 2025.

Starting with the knee block area, the Flylite goalie pads will have a 7.5-inch knee black, this is 1-inch longer than any Bauer goalie pad in the past.  This will help seal the internal butterfly coverage that shooters cannot see.

The new SLYD Tunefit strapping system will allow the goalie to get the pad tighter to their legs without sacrificing pad rotation.  This also makes the pad more supportive as the goalie can take advantage of all the new technology incorporated into the Flylite goalie pads.

Bauer has also introduced a new Rebound Edge to the outer/vertical roll.  This will be on the shin and boot area only – not on the knee and thigh rise area.  The reason is to not interfere with the flex points on knee and thigh.  The Rebound Edge is a stiff outer/vertical roll that helps eliminate shots from pushing past the outer/vertical roll.  If the outer/vertical roll is too soft, there have been instances of goals going in because it just didn’t have the stopping stiffness.  This new rebound edge helps eliminate this problem and therefore reduce untimely goals.

The new Vapor Flylite also has a new skin material – SLID3R Skin.  This material will help lessen the yellowing effect that Bauer pads have had in the past.

The boot on the Flylite goalie pads is thicker and more filled in than past models.  This helps keep the pad closer to the goalie’s shin and eliminates any space on the bottom of the goalie’s leg where it curves to the foot area.

A new toe tie system comes standard on the Flylite goalie pads. It is a new material that is more flexible and wraps more naturally around the top of the goalie’s foot.

The new landing on the Vapor Flylite leg pads will come with less grip material than past models.  Many goalies complained that the grip material hurt pad rotation, so Bauer has scaled that back for 2025.

Goalies can custom order the Bauer Flylite goalie pads in a Pro or Pro Custom selection.  The Pro is the stock Flylite Goalie pad but in any available custom color that Bauer offers.  The Pro Custom also is custom colors, but the goalie can change the specs on the pads to their preference.

Bauer Vapor Flylite Pro Goalie Catch Glove – 60 Degree

New for 2025 is the Bauer Vapor Flylite Goalie Catch Glove.  There were some notable changes for the new Vapor glove starting with pocket size. The new Vapor Flylite Catch Glove has a 5% deeper pocket than previous models with a new fused double-t pocket design.  The glove closure will also be the same as the past generation Vapor catch gloves with a full hand closure (590 break).  Combined with the new fused double t-pocket, the full hand closure makes the Flylite glove very easy to open and close right off the shelf.

The 60-degree break angle is the traditional Bauer glove break.  This is also known as the 590-break angle.  The 60-degree break angle keeps the catch pocket more in a straight line with the glove break. In contrast, the 90-degree break angle (also known as the 580-break angle) has a more arched line upward from the glove break through the glove pocket. One would say it looks like the pocket turns upward when closed.  One break is not better than the other, it is purely the goalie’s preference on which angle they prefer.

The palm structure has been changed on the Vapor Flylite Glove.  It will now have a lace through palm for increased durability.

The cuff of the Flylite will have the CURV composite reinforcement.

In the palm area, Bauer will be using rebound control foams and DCT protection.  This is lighter and more protective than pervious Vapor glove generations.  The inner palm will use the CatchGrip+ material.  This material adds a tackier feel to the inner palm which gives a goalie more control – particularly in the fingers and fingertips.

The Bauer Vapor Flylite is a pro level catch glove.  Recommended for 5 to 7 uses per week.

Bauer Vapor Flylite Pro Goalie Blocker

The Bauer Blockers are considered the most comfortable blockers on the market today.  No other manufacture can compete with the comfort and rebound pop off the blocker face. New for 2025, the new Vapor Flylite has some new features to make these blockers even better.

Starting with a new adjustable finger connection system.  This allows for goalies to change the finger padding based on how a goalie holds their stick.  If a goalie likes a squared paddle design, they can adjust the padding to work with a square paddle.  If a goalie likes a steep paddle design, they can adjust the padding for a steep paddle.

The thumb on the new Vapor Flylite Blocker is also more flexible than past models.  This allows for great stick control in both save techniques and stick handling. The cuff on the Flylite Blocker is also much wider than any past Bauer Blocker, which adds increased flexibility in the goalie’s wrist.

The palm of the Vapor Flylite Blocker uses the 14.5 DuraConnekt palm with DCT foam in the finger protection. This equates to more stick control, better feel and better overall performance.  With stick handling being a must for goalies in today’s game, the blocker palm is vital to stick handling success.

The profile of the Flylite blocker is a max sized CURV Composite that generates extremely active rebounds off the face of the blocker.

The Bauer Vapor Flylite is a pro level blocker.  Recommended for 5 to 7 uses per week.
