Brian’s Iconik 2 Pro Senior Goalie Leg Pads
The new Brians Iconik 2 goalie leg pads are designed for a high-level goalie that wants an elite level quality out of their gear. The Iconik 2 goalie leg pads will continue to utilize the Opti-Slide inner edge that has been extremely popular on previous generations of Brian’s pro leg pads. The Opti-Slide edge is layered with Brian’s Primo material, known for its durability and super-fast sliding surface.
The Iconik 2 has addressed a few issues from the first generation Iconik pads. The Iconik 2 has been thinned out a bit to help reduce some weight. Brian’s will stay with a tradition squared vertical roll; this helps with rigidity and durability of the pad. The core has also been updated to be the lightest core Brian’s has ever produced. The knee block is double laced in for extra support while allowing for mobility. Many goalies prefer to have some movement in the knee block – especially in the reverse VH position. This allows the pad to have some lateral flex while being down in the VH.
Brian’s will also be using a special carbon fiber material in the thigh rise to help with thigh rise stability. This material is called Bri-Core Triaxle carbon fiber. No matter what flex you choose on the Iconik 2 core, it is very important that the actual thigh rise stay solid and stiff to prevent bad five-hole goals.
The Iconik 2 leg pad has tabs for a removable control strap at the top of the calf (or often referred to as a professor strap). This strap allows the pad to be worn tight to the goalie’s leg without effecting pad rotation when a goalie goes into the butterfly position.
Also new for 2025 is a three-option core flex. The R Flex is the most flexible option; this is a break at the bottom of the knee and the top of the knee. The X Flex is a break below the knee and a stiff profile from the bottom of the knee to the top of the thigh rise. The S Flex is the stiffest option with no break at the bottom or top of the knee. All three-flex options will come with a Hyperflex boot which is a very soft boot flex for maximum ankle mobility.
Brian’s will also be adding an alternate strapping system on the Iconik 2 pad. The tradition strapping has the knee strap running through the knee black and connecting independently to the knee flap (on the outside of the knee) or horizontally on the outer calf wrap. The alternative strapping has the knee strap and the calf strap connected. The connected knee and calf strap has to connect horizontally to the outer calf wrap – it CANNOT connect the outer knee tab.
Lastly, the boot features Brian’s Smart cord in the toe, which is made of an elastic shock cord and provides better durability and a more responsive pad. Many goalies are choosing to go back to a skate lace option because of the affect the bungee has on pushes off the post while in the butterfly position. A skate lace makes this push much stronger. The Iconik 2 can easily be changed to a skate lace versus the bungee.

Brian’s Iconik 2 Pro Senior Goalie Catch Glove
New for 2025 is the Brian’s Iconik 2 pro goalie catch glove. This glove maximizes the 45-inch perimeter rule and has a gigantic catching pocket. The break of the glove has a 35-degree closure which goes back to the original Optik closure. The Smart Dial system is also used on the Iconik 2 catch glove. The Smart Dial system is a locking mechanism that allows the goalie to get wrist strap tighter than ever before. You simply turn this dial until the goalie reaches the desired tension. To release the Smart Dial system, you simply turn the dial in the opposite direction, and the pressure will release. Combining the Hex-air internally and the Smart Dial system externally in the wrist and backhand areas, the Iconik 2 catch glove can be customized to fit each individual goalie. We have seen some failure issues (Not many but some) with the dial system so we would recommend on custom order going to a traditional wrist strap option on custom orders.
Brian’s also did a great job of designing the glove to cover pucks along the ice with minimal gaps. Many gloves create big gaps when trying to seal glove to the ice while covering the puck. This allows the puck to move out of the glove and create dangerous and unnecessary scoring chances.
The Iconik 2 glove comes stock a Double T pocket. Single T pockets can be custom ordered. An interesting side note, all Brian’s gloves with a Double T have the Thief eyes on the front of the T, the Single T does not have the eyes on the outside the glove. The thumb area of the Iconik 2 uses the Bri-Fuse multi density cuff. This is a molded piece that will not lose its contour over time and go flat like a pressed design. Essentially this design keeps the gloves shape intact over the life of the glove.
We have always noticed Brian’s palms seem to run a bit small compared to other manufactures. There is a custom option for a large palm for taller goalies. The Iconik 2 glove was built with reinforced HD foams and rounded finger protection which allows for great seal on the ice.

Brian’s Iconik 2 Pro Senior Goalie Blocker
The new Brians Iconik 2 Goalie Blocker features a large high density blocking board with the new Bri-Core triaxle carbon-fiber composite which provides more rigidity and durability comparted to past models. Bri-Core gives this blocker tremendous rebound pop off face of the blocker. The Iconik 2 has a beveled nose which helps a goalie’s main stance and provide better seal to the ice when paddle down.
The profile of the Iconik 2 Blocker has been thinned out to help reduce weight on this model. The wrist area is low and wide with a bindingless edge which allows for better wrist mobility. Another new feature that we really like is a wider finger thumb opening for holding the stick. Too many blockers lock the stick in place and create too much thumb rub on the paddle. This new design greatly reduces this issue.
Under the wrist strap is Brian’s BOA dial system to customize the tension and tightness for the perfect fit. We have seen some failure with the dial system, so we do recommend getting the traditional wrist strapping on custom orders.
