CCM Extreme Flex E7.9 Senior Goalie Leg Pads – Special Edition

New for 2025 is a completely revamped CCM Extreme Flex 7.9 series.  The Eflex 7.9 is a much more modernized version compared to past models. Starting with just the look of the pad, gone are the oddly shaped knee rolls that were on the past few generations of Eflex pads.  This gives the pad a much more balanced land traditional look than those older models.  As for the feature, the Eflex 7.9 has been redesigned from the ground up.

Starting with the profile of the pad, the Eflex 7.9 has a much more pre-curved s-shape compared to the Eflex 6.9 series.  This will be the first generation of EFlex pads that Goalies Plus did not have to add any additional breaks to the pads.  With a single break below the knee and a nice pre-curve to the top of the pad, the 7.9 pad seals the five hole for goalies with medium to narrow butterflies.

The inner edge of the CCM Eflex 7.9 goalie pads will have the all-new cross glide technology.  This material slides much better than the old CCM Speedskin.  Based on professional feedback, it has a good slide, not the most slidable pad on the market but very good.  So, for a goalie that wants a little more control in their butterfly slides, the E7.9 pad is a great option.

The Eflex 7.9 will continue to use the DRS Pro (Dynamic Response System), this is an integrated knee system that essentially connects the knee stack/landing area with the core of the pad.  This allows for greater seal, control and feel of the pad.  The pad no longer has the tendency to over or under rotate with the DRS system. This in turns provides a much more stable and consistent feel for goalie pad during play.  The DRS also helps absorb impact from the constant up and down movements that a goalie has to perform. Hopefully the DRS will help with the hip, knee and back issues that have risen over the years in the goalie position.

Moving to the backside of the Extreme Flex E7.9 pads, you will notice the tight and deep fit that is obtained through the new Quick Motion Strapping System 3.  The QMSS3 system keeps the pad tight to the goalie leg which provides better feel and performance for the hybrid style goalie.  The Quick Motion 3 will have a removable lower strap; this can help a goalie customize the feel they want.  Keeping the lower strap in will keep the pad more secure to the goalie’s leg while removing that strap will give the goalie more ankle mobility.

CCM will use an offset hybrid lace system for a toe on the Eflex 7.9 goalie pad versus a bungee toe tie system.  The hybrid lace system is a skate lace system with built in slack to allow the goalie skate free range of motion without any restriction.  The hybrid toe tie has a Velcro connection at the ends that allow for quick and easy connection while getting dressed.  Goalies Plus deals with a large amount of NHL pro return gear – most of which use a skate lace system versus a bungee system.  There is also a great YouTube video that Kasimir Kaskisuo addressing toe laces versus bungees.

CCM Extreme Flex E7.9 Senior Goalie Catch Glove – Special Edition

The Eflex 7.9 catch glove will come stock with a skate lace pocket.

The internal strapping system will have the cross-foam strapping allows for a customized fit on the back of the goalie’s hand and the finger area.  The finger area will have traditional finger stalls, gone are the open designs that were not very popular on past CCM gloves. A neoprene pinky and thumb design has been added for extra comfort.

Goalies Plus choose to use a different option on the graphic compared to the stock graphics.  We just felt it gives the goalie a different look than what most stores will be selling.
