Vaughn Legacy Youth Goalie Leg Pads – Limited Edition

For the first time ever, a classic fake strap pad is available at the senior, intermediate, junior and youth price levels. This new exclusive series is now available at Goalies Plus.  This Legacy series is a new school pad with an old school look.  These designs are based off the some of the first goalies to introduce style to the goalie position.  Goalies like Andy Moog, Jon Casey, Jimmy Waite, Ron Hextall, Pete Peeters, Mike Richter & Bill Ranford are the inspirations for these designs.

The Vaughn Legacy is called a youth sized by Vaughn. we feel that this pad is more of a hybrid of a youth and junior pad.  Compared to other youth goalie leg pads on the market today, the Velocity Legacy is a much higher quality.  This pad has a pre-molded s-shape which allows a goalie to maximize their butterfly coverage.  This is a true goalie leg pad, not just a piece of foam with a channel cut out for the legs.

The Legacy youth goalie leg pads have a very simple elastic/velcro strapping system that allows a goalie parent to put the pads on and take the pads off in seconds.  Even a firth time goalie parent will have no issue strapping these up.

The width of the Legacy youth pads is 8.75 inches wide.  This is a great height to width proportion for a youth sized goalie. The weight of this pad is also incredibly light, at 1.9 pounds per pad (24+1.5 size), a young goalie can easily push this pad around without being worn down by the weight of the pads.

The Vaughn Legacy also has the Quick Slide material on the inside of the pad which is a huge upgrade compared to other traditional “youth” pads that are generally a nylon or a cheap synthetic leather.  Along with the quick slide material, the inner edge is made of a high-density foam which allows a young goalie to properly develop butterfly techniques.  Another reason we feel that this is a youth/junior goalie leg pad is the sizing.  The Legacy youth pad comes in 20+1.5, 22+1.5, 24+2 and 26+1.5 sizes.  The 26+1.5 is not generally a youth size, this is generally a junior size.
