Vaughn Ventus SLR Intermediate Pro Goalie Pads
From their Custom Pro Carbon gear to every piece of goalie equipment they make, the team at Vaughn simply gets it done. The Vaughn VPG Ventus SLR Pro Senior Leg Pads offers one of, if not the best deal in the newest gear. The full foam core of the Ventus pad is top-quality, rivaling the materials used a few years ago in custom pads. For Butterfly or Hybrid goalies, Vaughn’s advanced strap system accommodates either style. The Velcro and Buckle combination keeps the Ventus pad in place snugly or can be tweaked to allow for consistent rotation. If you’re in the market for a flat faced goalie leg pad that features a pre-shaped fit and added flexibility, look no further than the Vaughn VPG Ventus SLR Pro Leg Pads. With the SLR line of goalie gear, Vaughn continuously establishes its place in the conversation when shopping for mid-priced gear.

Vaughn Velocity VE8 Pad Vs. Vaughn Ventus SLR Pad
Vaughn offers two lines of goalie pads – the Velocity VE8 and the Ventus SLR series. If you are unsure of the differences, we are here to help you decide what is best for you. The Velocity VE8 is the continuation of the very successful Velocity line that has been around since the early 2000’s. This pad has been the item of choice for goalies that play a hybrid/athletic style. Goalies like Jonathan Quick and Tuuka Rask are great examples of goalies that prefer this type of pad. Built for a lot of flexibility, this pad has a very soft and flexible nature to it., The Ventus SLR pad could be categorized as a butterfly or blocking because of the flat face style but we do not see it that way. The Ventus SLR is a pad that a very athletic butterfly/blocking goalie that is wanting more flexibility in a pad would like. Goalies like Jimmy Howard and Matt Murray who were always Velocity guys have switched to the Ventus SLR pads for this reason. They play with a variety of techniques and the flat face design along with extra flexibility (compared to a traditional stiff butterfly pad) gives them the best of both worlds.
