Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Youth Goalie Leg Pads – Special Edition
New for 2022 is the third generation of the popular Ventus SLR line from Vaughn. Goalies Plus will provide our customer base another Special Edition version of the Ventus SLR line in youth sizes. We will have four unique colors ways available – White, Red & Black; All Black; Blue, White & Red; Black, Orange and White.
The Vaughn Ventus SLR3 is called a Youth size by Vaughn, we feel that this pad is more of a hybrid of a youth and junior pad. Compared to other youth goalie leg pads on the market today, the Ventus SLR3 is a much higher quality. This pad has a pre-molded s-shape which allows a goalie to maximize their butterfly coverage. This is a true goalie leg pad, not just a piece of foam with a channel cut out for the legs.
The SLR3 also has the Quick Slide material on the inside of the pad which is a huge upgrade compared to other traditional “youth” pads that are generally a nylon or a cheap synthetic leather. Along with the quick slide material, the inner edge is made of a high-density foam which allows a young goalie to properly develop butterfly techniques. Another reason we feel that this is a youth/junior goalie leg pad is the sizing. The Ventus Special Edition SLR3 Youth pad comes in 24+2 and 26+2 sizes. The 26+2 is not generally a youth size, this is generally a junior size.
If you have a goalie that is in between youth and junior, the SLR3 is the perfect pad. The Ventus SLR3 is also great for the parent looking for a high-end youth goalie pad as well.

Now available at Goalies Plus is the Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Special Edition series. There will be four custom color ways for the SLR3 youth line – Black/White/Orange; White, Red & Black; All Black; Royal Blue, White & Red.
The SLR3 Youth line is a mix of a youth and junior in our opinion. The quality and spec are much better than any other you line on the market today. For goalies wearing junior pads but feel that the corresponding junior blocker and gloves are too big, the SLR3 youth line is a perfect alternative. The quality of the SLR3 youth glove is more than capable of working as a smaller junior catch glove. Therefore, we consider this to be a very high-end youth glove, or a smaller junior catch glove based on what a smaller goalie would need.
The Ventus SLR3 youth glove features a deep single t pocket with skate lace pocket. Compared to other youth catch gloves on the market today, a young goalie can actually catch pucks with this glove. The level of protection in the palm of the SLR3 youth glove is much higher than other youth gloves (which again is why we say it can be used as a small junior glove). The solid cuff design provides additional wrist stability and maximizes surface coverage. The SLR3 has most of the features of the SPR3 junior glove, just in a smaller size.

New for 2022 is the Vaughn Ventus SLR Youth goalie blocker. The Ventus SLR3 blocker features many of the specs that the majority of goalies prefer. This blocker can be used by either a hybrid or butterfly style goalie. The Ventus SLR3 youth blocker is extremely light weight and well balanced. With a bindingless surface, the SLR3 takes up the maximum surface area for its size. The Vaughn Ventus SLR3 blocker is a youth blocker with all the features of a junior blocker. An air cushioned backhand protects the goalies wrist and back of hand. Full finger protection on the SLR3 youth blocker is rarely seen in other youth blockers. A high-quality palm allows the goalie to have optimal stick feel while being durable.
