Vaughn VX1 Youth Goalie Leg Pads – Special Edition

New for 2025 is newest hybrid leg pad generation from Vaughn.  Goalies Plus will provide our customer base another Special Edition version of the VX1 line in youth custom colors.  We will have four unique colors ways available and sizing 22+2, 24+2 and 26+2.

The Vaughn VX1 is called a Youth size by Vaughn, we feel that this pad is more of a hybrid of a youth and junior pad.  Compared to other youth goalie leg pads on the market today, the Velocity VX1 is a much higher quality.  This pad has a pre-molded s-shape which allows a goalie to maximize their butterfly coverage.  This is a true goalie leg pad, not just a piece of foam with a channel cut out for the legs.

The VX1 youth goalie leg pads have a very simple elastic/velcro strapping system that allows a goalie parent to put the pads on and take the pads off in seconds.  Even a firth time goalie parent will have no issue strapping these up.

The width of the VX1 Youth pads is 8.75 inches wide.  This is a great height to width proportion for a youth sized goalie.

The Velocity VX1 also has the Quick Slide material on the inside of the pad which is a huge upgrade compared to other traditional “youth” pads that are generally a nylon or a cheap synthetic leather.  Along with the quick slide material, the inner edge is made of a high-density foam which allows a young goalie to properly develop butterfly techniques.  Another reason we feel that this is a youth/junior goalie leg pad is the sizing.  The Velocity V10 Youth pad comes in 22+2, 24+2 and 26+2 sizes.  The 26+2 is not generally a youth size, this is generally a junior size.

Vaughn VX1 Youth Goalie Catch Glove – Special Edition

Now available at Goalies Plus is the Vaughn VX1 Special Edition series. The VX1 youth line is a mix of a youth and junior in our opinion.  The quality and spec are much better than any other you line on the market today.  For goalies wearing junior pads but feel that the corresponding junior blocker and gloves are too big, the VX1 youth line is a good alternative.  The quality of the VX1 youth glove is more than capable of working as a smaller junior catch glove.  Therefore, we consider this to be a very high-end youth glove, or a smaller junior catch glove based on what a smaller goalie would need.

The VX1 youth glove features a deep single t pocket.  Compared to other youth catch gloves on the market today, a young goalie can actually catch pucks with this glove.  The level of protection in the palm of the VX1 youth glove is much higher than other youth gloves (which again is why we say it can be used as a small junior glove).  The solid cuff design provides additional wrist stability and maximizes surface coverage.

Vaughn VX1 Youth Goalie Blocker – Special Edition

New for 2025 is the Vaughn VX1 youth goalie blocker. The VX1 youth blocker is extremely light weight and well balanced.  With a binding less surface, the VX1 takes up the maximum surface area for its size.  Full finger protection on the VX1 youth blocker is rarely seen in other youth blockers.  A wide contoured cuff allows for wrist mobility.  It also is wide enough to help eliminate overlap between the blocker and the chest protector arms.

The VX1 line is a mix of a youth and junior in our opinion.  The quality and spec are much better than any other youth lines on the market today.  For goalies wearing junior pads but feel that the corresponding junior blocker and gloves are too big, the VX1 youth line is a good alternative.
